Versatile Fleece

Bought primarily as liner for ECWCS Get III Layer 6 rain parka. Not the one specifically designed for that rain parka, but it works for me. I can also use it lining a windbraking jacket or on its own. I tested it in 42 degrees with a 10-12 mph wind with only an XGO Phase 1 t-shirt under it. It was chilly as the fleece does not stop wind. I tried it under a windbreaker with same t-shirt in 39 degrees with 15 mph wind and was just fine. Haven't tried under the rain parka but with that parka acting as a wind stopper, I'm confident it will work quite nicely in rainy low temperatures, especially with proper layers. I have used in in the low 50's as a stand along jacket with no wind it was quite comfortable. Long story short-don't expect it to keep you tosty in sub zero weather unless yiu have apppropriate base layer and proper shell. Pros: mediium thick regular knapp fleece, appears well made, ykk zippers, stand up collar, length falls below waist, internal wind flap on full length front zipper and reasonable price. Cons: pockets are fairly small, collar a bit snug when fully zipped and no beard protector. As for fit, I'm 5'11" with 44" chest and 40" waist with 35" shirt sleeve. At 194 lbs. The L is not floppy or baggy, but does hug the body. For me and my purposes, it fits well and works. Hope this helps.

Best fleece

Great jacket! This is my third one, Other two are used military and half the thickness of this one!
Wear a thin down jacket under it most of the winter and am toasty warm even in adverse conditions. Get one while you still can!
