This lightweight, universal camouflage pattern (ACU) Level 6 parka is genuine US military issue, made in the USA. The US Army Generation III Level 6 Extreme Wet/Cold Weather Jacket is intended for use in moderate to cold and wet conditions as a hard-shell layer combined with other base and insulating layers. The parka features a non-freezing two-way zipper double storm flap (inner zipper, outer Velcro type closure) and elastic cuffed sleeves with a Velcro type tab for adjustability.

This shell layer is designed to be worn as a waterproof barrier over other levels in conditions that alternate between freezing and thawing. It is constructed with two-layer Gore-Tex® and seam-sealed throughout. You will not believe how light weight it is compared to the ECWCS Generation I and II Gore-Tex®. Level 6 also incorporates NIR* (near infrared signature reduction) technology further enhancing soldier survivability. Handy features include a hideaway collar for hood storage of the oversized visored attached hood designed with a Velcro tab for back adjustability, two large pass-thru zippered front middle pockets and an adjustable waist drawstring.

Perfect Parka for New England sloppy days

I have the ecwcs fleece layer too and this parka will work perfectly over that with a base layer for cold wet snowy conditions. This will make snow shoveling and snow blowing more comfortable. I just got the matching trousers to go with it.

Excellent, but "crinkly," hardshell jacket

I was one of the lucky ones recently, when McGuire Army Navy had the ECWCS Gen III Level 6 Extreme Cold/Wet Weather Parka — ACU on deep discount, to have my size available. I am very happy with it; perfect for what I need. This is a great outer shell--for someone who doesn't need to be stealthy. It will keep you dry and warm and has plenty of room for layers underneath, but it is noisy. Stationary hunters might love it, but maybe not so much stalking hunters, depending on the game. So, heavy duty, good value, high quality, and American-made, but lost a star for "crinkliness."
