The US Military Improved ACU Modular Sleep System (MSS) is a sleeping bag system constructed to insulate the user in environments ranging from mild weather to extremely cold weather. The system consists of two Mummy-style sleeping bags-the Patrol (Foliage) and the Intermediate Cold Weather (Urban Grey). Each is constructed of water-resistant, ripstop nylon. Each sleeping bag is fully functional independently. For a temperature of -30°, insert the Intermediate Cold Weather bag inside the Patrol bag. Each bag is compatible with the vapor-permeable Bivy cover. When all 3 components are used together the system is rated to provide 4 hours sleep at -40°F. Non-flammable and machine washable. Made in the USA by Tennier Industries.

I have missed my service sleeping system. This was an incredible purchase

Just to get it out of the way, since this is a used sleeping system with wear, the wear I found was minimal. One of the snap buttons on the intermediate bag was gone which wasn't a big deal to me. In the goretex cover there was a strip of fabric hanging that was fixed with glue. Other than other surface wear with the fabrics, it's in amazing shape.

One of my favorite pieces of gear I was issued was my sleeping system. I was really sad to part with it, I was even thinking of writing it off as lost and paying for the loss just to keep it. When I got into recreational camping and needed to shop around, nothing could take the place of this amazing piece of equipment. Even just getting into another bag felt wrong to me.

So I shopped around to find the ACU sleeping system and came across McGuire. After reading reviews saying their surplus bags were in great condition I decided to take the chance. I very satisfied with my purchase. Thank you for helping me fill the void, it will be my choice for backpacking as well.

A bit dirty, but good

I don't know what I expected, but this is great quality though the heavier sleeping bag was kinda gross looking. I washed it and it looks fantastic now! Great price for what I got.

Amazing quality

Way better than I was expecting, was amazed by the quality of the MSS that I vought, even though it was in used condition it was practically brand new
